'The Defiance of Nature', Oil on Linen by Paul Laspagis, Winner Mackley Prize 2022
One of three Select Exhibitions held each year by VAS. Votes cast by exhibiting artists are used to decide the list of candidates for the Artist of the Year Award exhibition. The Autumn exhibition features the Mackley Prize for $2000 and the VAS Sculpture Prize
Works entered into the VAS Autumn Exhibition must not have been previously exhibited at VAS. Digital works will not be included in this exhibition.
A selection process will be undertaken by the VAS Council Select Committee, based on quality, execution and presentation of works. Unsuccessful entrants will be advised by email of the reasons for not being selected.
All current members of VAS are encouraged to vote in the VAS Autumn Exhibition. Votes go towards inclusion in the Artist of the Year Award Exhibition.
The opening and awards presentation event for the VAS Autumn Select Exhibition is on Saturday 15 April at 1pm
The judge for this year's Autumn Exhibition shall be Lisa Wang. Lisa is the Vice President of the WSV. She has held 7 solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions.
