Description
These drawing classes offer a structured approach to learning the art of portraiture, combining the study of master drawings with direct observation working from sculpture and a live model.
Students will gain insight into the structure of the head, the anatomy of the face, and the principles of tonal values, proportion and likeness. Class will include demonstrations, group discussion and personalised guidance from Jenn.
This class is suitable for beginners and doesn't require any previous experience, offering a supportive and encouraging space to expand your artistic abilities.

Jennifer Huang
Jenn Huang is a Melbourne-based painter and draftsperson. Her practice draws upon both a lifelong exposure to Chinese visual culture and a profound engagement with the works of European Old Masters. As an artist, she hopes to invite her audience to share a
moment of quiet intensity with her work. As a teacher, she is passionate about sharing what she has learned with students and supporting them in their own art practice. Her work has been recognised with several awards and grants, most recently the 2025 Nada Hunter Portrait Award.
