Colin Davey
My interest in art has centred around large format film and digital photography, still life and studio portraits. This has focussed on art photography. I have developed my own film for many years. While photography as a creative outlet has been rewarding I see painting as a natural progression. Artists and their work I have been studying for quite some time at museums, galleries and through literature. It is my hope to learn from people who are knowledgeable and able to pass on to me what I need to develop in the medium of painting.
Education
Grew up in the bush, moved to Melbourne in 1998. Bachelor of Business. Associate Diploma Management.
Became interested in photography and art early with a b&w Kodak camera and through literature. Did limited painting in my teens, plus a couple of felt tip drawings. Started to dabble in sketching a decade ago, with limited outcomes. Have had a keen interest in artists, particularly those from the Renaissance, and French, Flemish, Dutch, Italian and Australian artists.
