Yaping Jiang was born in China. She graduated from China's Sichuan Academy of Art. Yaping was an art teacher in Southwest Normal University of China before she immigrated to Melbourne.
Yaping obtained a Diploma of Art Study at RMIT University. Yaping founded New Star Art School over 25 years ago, which has become a leading art education school in Melbourne.
