Violeta is my partner. She had a miscarriage in 2020 after a few weeks of pregnancy. The painting is her portrait, wearing a red dress (symbolising the living thing and blood she lost), holding a vase of dry wild wheat grass with seeds that will never grow into new plants (symbolising the unborn child). It is to commemorate that loss of us, and honor the agony that she is still bearing.
