I grew up in a family that works in the seafood industry, and oysters have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, whether it's admiring their forms or enjoying them at the table. Beyond their connection to home, I'm drawn to the quiet beauty found in their imperfections. As an artist, painting oysters encourages me to practise restraint, allowing a few deliberate brushstrokes to suggest rather than define. Set against a dark background, their delicate forms and subtle textures take on an understated elegance, reminding me why they have fascinated me for so many years.
