The Wish

'The Wish' is a declaration of my aspirations. It’s a nod to the sweet phase I find myself in within my artistic journey. While my day job is all about science, painting has always been my go-to hobby. However, since I enrolled in the VAS academy, I have been buzzing with a fresh ambition to take this passion up a notch. In this piece, I have gone for a still life in oil paintings, skills I learned in the academy. Yet, I've infused it with nostalgia by incorporating toys and objects from my childhood. At the heart of 'The Wish' lies a poignant plea, directed to the dragon—a homage to the character Shenron from my favorite manga, 'Dragon Ball'—to grant me the ability to persist in this creative pursuit, which brings me so much joy.
