This work is based on the front part of our property and horses. I wanted to explore flattening out the picture plane, interesting edges and colours of place but not necessarily in place. With all of the experimentation I didn’t want to loose a sense of tranquility that accompanies the late afternoon grazing time. The use of a cold wax medium adds texture and transparency and leaves a candle like finish.
