Bill Coleman studied at the RMIT and afterwards under George Bell for six years. Thereafter working as a photolithographic and cartographic artist for 30 years. His work features stylised figures and cityscapes rendered in distinctive Australian colour. His work is often compared with his contemporaries Robert Dickerson and John Brack. He is represented in the New York Public Library collection and in several regional and private collections in Australia. Bill Coleman was the winner of the 1977 VAS Winter Exhibition.
