A feather, a pebble, and a maple seed pod - three humble elements arranged in quiet harmony. Stillness explores the fragile balance between weight and lightness, permanence and impermanence. Set against a dark background, this small-scale composition invites close observation and reflection, it becomes a meditation on stillness, presence, and the delicate tension that holds everything in place.The artwork is done in scratchboard technique where every dot and dimple, variation in tone and value is created by scratching a black surface with craft knife and other sharp tools to reveal a white clay underneath and then toned down with ink washes if needed. This is truly unique medium that has a timeless classical quality alike black and white photography and allows to achieve incredible details with patience, skill and time.
