Join Lucy Fekete as she guides students on how to simplify “Alla Prima” portrait painting in oils. 

Alla Prima (Italian for “first attempt”) also known as “wet-on-wet”, is a method of painting in which the artist applies paint to the canvas essentially in one sitting. This two day workshop is designed to simplify the steps taken to accurately paint a painterly portrait at “first attempt” with a real life model. Students will undertake a portrait from life using a limited palette, assisted by a mix of short lectures, demos, plus one on one guidance during student painting sessions.

The workshop is designed and suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience, looking to refine their skills and improve their approach to portrait painting.
