Perfectly imperfect. This was also my first painting of myself where I discovered how confronting self portraiture was. It was painted intuitively without any training in portrait painting. I used new pallet knife techniques and colours that I had recently begun playing with at the time. This piece is a pivotal stepping stone in a new direction for my personal style of painting.
