Scott Bamford is a figurative and still life artist, painting and drawing the mundane and mythological.
Holding a B. Arts (Visual Culture) (Interaction Design) from Curtin University alongside classical training his work balances observation and imagination, focusing entirely on atmosphere and mood over strict realism.
Influenced by the visual language of classical art, cinema, and documentary photography, Bamford uses symbolism and allegories to place everyday moments alongside the narratives of folklore. Each piece pairs craftsmanship with the natural imperfections of the medium. By leaving unfinished passages and visible traces of studio decisions, he spotlights the physical act of making art, creating a distinct tension between visual storytelling and the pursuit of craft.
Based in Melbourne, Bamford exhibits regularly across local spaces with paintings and drawings held in private collections.
He is currently a 2026 Hansen Little Coterie Recipient with the Victorian Artist Society.
