Robert Miller was born in Melbourne in 1916 and studied commercial art at the RMIT He worked for many years as a graphic designer at ACI Ltd. He was a VAS Councillor and Teacher (1949-64) and a member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, President of the Old Watercolour Club and of the Hughesdale Art Group. He was the inaugural VAS Artist of the Year in 1973 and won the Rotary Club of Camberwell Watercolour Prize twice.
