Peaceful Place

Moving to the stunning Mornington Peninsula*, with the constant sea breeze, ocean vibes and incredible look-outs. For me as a -recently moved- Dutch artist this a beautiful area to settle in and I’m overwhelmed by the abundance of nature filling my basket, full of inspiration. Part of moving abroad is the coming and going of raw emotions. This painting is inspired on a glimmer, being welcomed by the seagulls to enter the beach. Despite the dramatic stormy clouds, the beach is a peaceful place. Thereby this painting symbolise the healing power of ocean living in the emotional transition from The Netherlands to Australia. *I acknowledge the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people, the traditional custodians of these lands and waters of which I work and gather, and pay out respect to elders past, present and emerging. I feel privileged and grateful that I may live here for a while.
