This painting depicts my view looking down at Tidal River at Wilsons Promontory, capturing the sandy shore, cool waters, and wild coastal vegetation. It has been painted in an expressive and "messy" style, reflecting the ever changing and perfectly cluttered landscape. I chose a natural, earthy palette of green, soft ochres and muted blues to reflect the raw beauty of Wilsons Promontory. This place is always so intriguing to me, each time I leave, I want to explore another part of it. This painting is my way of capturing the natural beauty and the constant pull this place has on me.
