This masterclass is designed to develop existing oil painting skills using colour, tonal planes and negative space to work up a portrait likeness.

The group will be working at standing easels from a live portrait model. Jennifer will guide and direct the progression of the painting sessions to create a sound foundation on which to build individual style.

The class will focus on beginning a portrait, tonal progression, achieving three dimensionality and techniques for self correction.

The class is designed to explore technique and painting development from the very first brush strokes rather than achieving a ‘perfect’ finished portrait at the completion of the workshop.
