A VAS Members exclusive workshop!

Join us in the coastal paradise of Cape Liptrap to begin your en plein air journey. Supported by VAS artist T. J. Murphy, you will be guided through the practice of painting outdoors in this picturesque spot.

We will cover a variety of topics including:

• Materials and set up

• Composition

• Tones/values

• Colour

• Edges

• Paint application/quality

The aim of the workshop is to enhance your visual understanding of the world and how to replicate that using traditional materials and techniques. By the end of the workshop you should have the skills necessary to feel confident heading out into the world on your own painting adventures!

Please note that this offsite workshop is running in tandem with our annual Members Paint Out 4 Day Trip based at Waratah Bay. If you haven't been on a plein air weekend before, this is a great place to start. Participants are welcome to stay on for the remainder of the weekend. T. J. Murphy will host an intermediate plein air workshop that can be taken in conjunction with the beginner workshop as it is a continuation of skills learned.

VAS Membership is required to join this workshop. Cape Liptrap is approximately 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne.
