Nicholas Scholes (NVCK)

Nicholas Scholes (NVCK) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working out of Melbourne/Narrm. His vast artistic discography is fuelled by an unwavering love for the world, yet one which battles a haunting fear for its future. Through this lens, his work can be read simultaneously as a celebration of the beauty of human experience as well as a cautionary reminder of the existential threats it faces.

Despite a lack of commitment to a visual style, the commonality between NVCK’s artwork lies in that each work can be related to both the individual and society at large. In this sense, he aims to position his works in a threshold which simultaneously expresses deeply personal plights as well as contemporary sociological concerns.

Education

Having gained a deep appreciation for historical and contemporary artistic and social landscapes whilst completing his degree in Art History and Sociology at the University of Melbourne, NVCK feels compelled to contribute to these disciplines through his visual art. So far, these efforts have culminated into hosting two solo painting exhibitions, a collaborative drawing exhibition, receiving multiple awards and participating in numerous group shows since 2022.
