Join celebrated artist Clive Sinclair for a masterclass in modern watercolour!

You will explore techniques for painting with lots of free brush strokes, large shapes and colour.

Large mop brushes and hakes will be used to create large colour tones through the works - no small brushes!

During the masterclass, you will focus on applying these skills to both landscapes and still life subjects.

This masterclass will be held in our upstairs galleries alongside our 2024 VAS Autumn Select Exhibition. Observers are welcome!

• Full or half sheet watercolour paper, either 180 to 300 gsm

• A variety of large mop brushes and hakes, - no small brushes!

• Colours: Ultramarine blue, alizron crimson, vermillion red, raw sienna, burnt umber, lemon yellow, prussian blue, cerelean blue, veridian green or thalo green, colbalt blue

• Any pencil

• Staples, tape or bull dog clips

• VAS Gallery will supply easels & tables
