Mary Nguyễn is a multimedia designer and emerging oil painting artist. Her practice centers on quiet landscapes and tonal realism still-lifes and portraits, focusing on direct-from-life observations and alla prima technique. She delves into various styles and concepts through her art while staying deeply rooted in her Vietnamese culture, continually refining her artistic expression over the years.
Mary Nguyen has been selected as a finalist in art prizes throughout Victoria, including the Emerging Artist Award (fortyfivedownstairs), the Whitehorse Art Show (Whitehorse Council), the Award Show (Off the Kerb), the UMSU Art Prize (University of Melbourne), and the Winter Select Exhibition (Victorian Artists Society). Through her art, she explores various styles and concepts, continually refining her expression as she strives to grow as an artist.
