Julia (Jia Lu) Wang (born 2005) is an emerging artist based in Melbourne Naarm, Australia. Having loved visual arts all her life, Wang aspires to reflect upon and respond to the world around her, in turn, finding solidarity with others through her art.

Wang’s works explore thematic ideas spanning from the self, cultural identity, memories and human sentience to our dynamic contemporary society and the human condition. The artist’s practise includes traditional as well as conceptual approaches in both the 2D and 3D forms, ranging from painting and mixed-media to photography and textiles. Wang is planning to refine and further enrich her artistic practise in tertiary education next year.
In 2023, Wang exhibited 苍 (Ethereal/Ash Grey) at the VAS Portrait Exhibition 2023, for which the artist was awarded the Nada Hunter Portrait 1st Prize Award, gaining her first prominent exposure and learning opportunity.

In 2022, she won the Suzanne Barrah Award for her VCE textile work Unidentified 生, an exploration into the effects of childhood and importance of family as well as cultural heritage in the construction of self identity in the Australian context.
Wang has previously exhibited at Centre for Contemporary Photography 2022 Summer Salon for her series 'OBSESSION', making her official exhibition debut.
The artist’s Still was shown at VAS Winter Select Exhibition 2023; Still also featuring in The Almenara Collection 2023 online exhibition.
