“Ivy on the Bluestone Wall” uses my preferred materials—dryer lint and thread—combined with free-motion sewing techniques. Inspired by Melbourne’s inner-urban landscape, the work transforms a household waste product into a way of exploring the relationship between man-made structures and the natural world, encouraging viewers to look more closely and think more deeply about the spaces we inhabit.
