Heavypaint is a tool in a painters arsenal to study colour and light in the real world. As an app that can be used on both tablets and mobile phones, the ease and portability makes it quick and easy to capture those spontaneous scenes we stumble upon in every day life. The portability and ease of use can open our eyes to things that may normally go unnoticed.
The purpose of this workshop is to:
1. Get accustomed to the tools and layout of Heavypaint
At first, the app interface may be a bit daunting and there are many different tools and settings to navigate. This may be a bit hard at first, but well worth the struggle.
2. Learn to be able to paint using the core tools
Using the core and essential tools, students will understand how sketches and studies can be made from start to end.
3. Understand the benefits of Heavypaint
While Heavypaint can be a tool to create finished works, I believe its core strength lies in its ability as a study tool. It will be important for artists to understand how they can take these sketches and apply them to their artistic journey.
