This painting is inspired by childhood memories of home—not a place, but a feeling. The warmth of an open fire, the scent of freshly baked bread, and the comfort of knowing I was safe are woven into the atmosphere of the work. We lived on the ‘Apple Isle’ My mother picked apples during the season, and would often have a warm loaf of bread waiting when I stepped off the school bus. Through rich, glowing light and soft, enveloping forms, I wanted to capture those simple moments of love, warmth, and belonging that continue to define what “home” means to me.
