‘Goddess Masquerade Ball, Athena' is influenced by Greek mythology, a representation of humanity’s complexities.
This painting is an expression of the subject's attributes and flaws. Like Athena, this is a story of the sitter. She navigates life’s difficulties with wisdom, strategy, and strength all represented by the fiery yellow-orange dress, the owl, and the solid masque which is ultimately for self-preservation.
