Explore the fascinating world of animal drawing. In Term 4, you will expand your drawing skills by experimenting with a variety of drawing mediums, with coloured pencil and ink techniques featuring prominently. Subjects will include birds, insects, and furred and scaled creatures.
Work from your own photographs or select from a range of supplied reference materials. Create both realistic and interpretive artworks based on your sketches while discovering new ways to depict texture, surface, and form. Develop your creative and technical skills through an exciting combination of mediums and approaches.
Our subjects will include:
1. Colour theory, how to blend and use colour pencils and coloured inks to achieve the best result
2. Beautiful birds in colour pencils on toned/sanded paper
3. Using coloured ink
4. Insects and creepy crawlies in fineliner pens
5. Scaled critters – crocs, lizards, snakes using water soluble graphite and graphite pencil
6. Miniature drawing of your choice & medium
This class features step-by-step guidance, one-on-one instruction, demonstrations and with comprehensive notes for you to take with you. Linda often provides additional materials to try. Some drawing experience is handy but not required and all levels are most welcome.
