Florence Wang
I am a visual artist based in Naarm, Melbourne. My art practice focuses on the narrative aspects of visual medium and using subject matter for storytelling. My art practice in traditional medium is influenced by my Chinese cultural heritage and particularly experience as a child learning painting. Presently, I take an interest in portraiture, still life, and landscape paintings that represent or is part of everyday experience.
Education
Besides art, I also have a career in scientific information visualisation or perhaps more known as "Information Graphics", of which I consider as the merging point of art and science. I completed a PhD across computer science and visual art in 2014 from the University of Sydney.
