On a road trip to Western Australia, we came across the Eulca Jetty, it was in pieces. It was built in 1887 and was used to transport wool and sandalwood around the world. The jetty was built with a southern aspect facing wild seas and pristine beaches. I found it appealing in its run down state, bits had been removed as people took souvenirs, burnt, and above all, time had not been kind. The parts that were remaining, shone in the sunlight, a testament to a stoic piece of Australian history, a hidden gem.
