Eloise Nouvelle

Eloise Nouvelle is a Melbourne painter working primarily with acrylic and gouache. Her evocative nocturnes and atmospheric landscapes are heavily influenced by Tonalism, utilising a soft, contemplative palette of deep blues and greens to evoke a profound sense of nostalgia, introspection, and emotional complexity.

Her practice explores the serene stillness of the night and early morning, specialising in capturing "blue hour" and tonal shifts where dusk meets dark, inviting viewers to see the familiar world as something mysterious and memory-like.

Eloise owns an open studio and art school named "Paint With Me" which is located in Northcote, Melbourne. At her studio she teaches beginners of all ages, with classes geared towards developing fundamental foundations of art skills at an accessible price point, with a welcoming and informative teaching style.

Paint With Me is a studio designed to rewrite the narrative that "art isn't a real job", and to stamp out the mantra of "I'm not creative" that so many art-lovers repeat.

In her spare time, she's found in her studio experimenting with abstract and expressionist painting techniques, or painting/drawing memorial pet portraits through her business "Nouvelle Pets'.

Education

Eloise is currently mentored by American painter Michael Orwick in Tonalism/Luminism, beginning in 2024.

Eloise lived and worked in Caen, Normandy in the north west of France over a period of 3 years to study landscape painting and urban sketching.

Eloise paints professionally, with works available for viewing at Paint With Me. She takes commission request for original landscapes and pet portraits.

Her work has been focused on building her professional portfolio as an arts business career mentor for year 11 and 12 students and studio owner, however she's begun to enter her paintings into competitions and exhibitions recently.
