Eileen joined the Victorian Artists Society in 1993, taking tuition in tonal and watercolour painting. While becoming a regular exhibitor, entering select exhibitions, and other individual exhibitions, she gained the following awards:

VAS Life Membership
AM (Member of the order of Australia) in recognition of services to the community in the field of art, heritage building restoration, and philanthropy.
2008 VAS Council Member as a convenor of exhibitions, social events, and studio.
2013 Elected VAS President, becoming the 5th woman to hold this position since 1870.
During this time, introduced extra studio classes, new exhibitions, and major sponsorship.
Arranged VAS Members morning tea at Government House.
2015 Restoration approval from Council, Fellow's, and Signatory Members.
2016 Restoration fundraising campaign launched.
2019 Restoration completed.
2020 Arranged for the Governor of Victoria to open VAS 150th Celebrations.
2021 November - Retired as VAS President.
2023 Final agreement from the Eye&Ear Hospital for VAS to use their access pathway as an assisted disabled access into the VAS building via the courtyard. The first meeting attended regarding this agreement was held with the Eye&Ear in 2011.
