My drawing is an interpretation of a friend's sculpture, a mound of rusty metal, with three stones nestled within. I began at the start of Melbourne's lockdown, drawing a small section each day. I welcomed the daily routine, finding it meditative and therapeutic for me at a time of loneliness and worry. Therefore the title has a dual meaning—the concept of objects finding comfort in a nest of hard metal, as well as the artistic process giving comfort to me at a hard time in my life.
