The painting has been gouged, exposing the rugged contours of outback hills into the grain of a reclaimed cigar box lid, echoing the toughness of the landscape itself. Quick, scratched lines and glimmering mineral tones evoke the deep earth beneath fading sunlight. As dusk settles over the outback, the final glow of the sky brushes against the massive hills—reminding us of the tension between what lies hidden and what briefly catches light.
