Brisbane Background is a self-portrait of the artist, Claire Weaver. Claire's Brisbane background is invisible yet ever-present. She hasn't lived in Brisbane for about 20 years, almost half her life. She's lived in Melbourne for 15 years now but still considers herself a Brissie girl. Her Brisbane background is obviously a big part of her identity.
