Raffaella is a painter, printmaker and photographer and has exhibited at the VAS and other galleries since the 1980s. With a B.A. from La Trobe University Melbourne, plus a post-graduate Degree from the Preston Institute. Raffaella has published and illustrates several books. Her artwork has strong connections with the writings of Dylan Thomas, T.S. Eliot and Australia’s les Murray and Barry Dickens. Rafaella works in a variety of media including pencil, charcoal, pastel, oils on canvas, lino cut and silkscreen. Her style is quirky and delicate as she endeavours to explore the relationship between human beings and animals. Her text and images offer reflections on a wide range of personal feelings and thoughts, ranging from the mysteries of great whales and other species, to the greed of humanity and the raw wasteland of Chernobyl.
