As a Dutch fine-artist I moved a couple of months ago from The Netherlands to the stunning Mornington Peninsula*. The whole transition comes with deep, raw and conflicting emotions. Try to capture that symbolically in this painting. The rougher back beach. The strenght but meanwhile vulnerability of the seagull. The serenity of little pools on the beach with its reflections.
*I acknowledge the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people, the traditional custodians of these lands and waters of which I work and gather, and pay out respect to elders past, present and emerging. I feel privileged and grateful that I may live here for a while.
