Aimee's interest in art started in childhood when she was learning Chinese calligraphy and painting. During her career as a curator and a professor of cultural relics and museology in a state museum, she never gave up Chinese painting as a hobby.
Since she moved to Australia she has had the opportunity to be exposed to more western paintings and fell in love with landscape watercolour painting. Over 10 years of a self-taught journey, with the constant support and encouragement of her family, she became an accomplished watercolour painter.
Aimee's paintings are influenced by both Eastern and Western styles and techniques. On the basis of focusing on realism, she pays attention to the depiction of artistic conception. Delicate colours, simple and powerful brushstrokes make her artworks present a fresh and natural artistic atmosphere.
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
