Heavy rain can destroy but in this case the daffodil is freshened, the luminous yellow petals and trumpet declaring spring open. This painting was inspired by the backyard garden of my friend Dr Sue Chua, a keen gardener and oncologist. Daffodil Day in August is in support of cancer research and supporting people with cancer. The daffodil symbolises resilience and hope.
