VAS Gallery invites Australian Artists to enter the 2026 9x5 Exhibition.

• Each board is $30 and includes the entry fee to the exhibition.

• Each artist can purchase a maximum of 4 boards.

• Boards must be returned to the gallery between Monday 22 June and Friday 26 June to be entered in the exhibition.

• If posting your artwork to the gallery, please allow ample time for it to arrive before Friday 26 June. If relying on postage; please also include a prepaid slip for the artwork to be returned at the conclusion of the exhibition.

• No late submissions will be accepted.

• The exhibition will be on display from 1 July to 2 August 2026 with an Award Ceremony on the 26 July.

The original iconic impressionism exhibition in 1889 was organised and featured paintings by VAS artists Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts and Charles Conder, who painted on cigar box lids 9 by 5 inches in size.

Paying homage to this important part of Victorian art history, we invite artists from across Australia in all mediums and styles to put their own spin on the 9x5 legacy.  Artworks must be created on these 9x5 boards, which are supplied by the Victorian Artists Society on payment of the $30 entry fee.
