In this one-day workshop, Lucy Maddox will guide learners in a fun and structured course detailing the steps to drawing the figure from life in ink and graphite. Beginning from loose gestural and tonal studies to refined works, students will understand the process to create lifelike images of the human body in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
In this workshop, artists will gain skills including:
Accurate sighting and measuring
Understanding tonal relationships
Identifying and checking proportions
Capturing likeness
Using dry and wet media in drawing.
A live model will be present for the second half of the workshop.
Materials will be provided for the workshop, but artists are encouraged to bring their own sketch book and to wear clothes you won’t mind getting stained or an old shirt or smock.
Please note this course is for artists aged 16-25 only.
