I collect objects to paint from Op Shops. I am struck by the shoe boxes filled with de-clothed “Barbie” and generic "Barbie" dolls. On an “ecological read” – recycling these toys is a good thing. On a “feminist read “– the shapes of the dolls are unrealistic and degrading. These dolls are often made of PVC.
