The VAS Paint Out trip to Yarram on the weekend focused mainly on the small coastal towns of Port Albert and Port Welshpool, and was an outstanding success with twenty Victorian Artists Society artists attending.
John Hurle, who organised the VAS Paint Out trip, said the small coastal towns provide boats and jetties, and calm, shallow inlet water views. At low tide, broad tidal sand flats, mangrove and coastal grasses can be seen. Port Welshpool also offers some nice views of Gippsland hills and Wilsons Promontory in the distance, on a clear day. On the final day of the trip, the group visited John's property near Yarram.
Rachel Robertson, the Convener of the VAS Paint Outs said the Paint Outs are one of the best opportunities for Victorian Artists Society members to enjoy a day out painting and meeting with other artists.
