1 Mar 2022 – 13 Mar 2022

Meet the Artist: 8 March 2022, 2pm to 4pm

Starting from a point of realistic naturalism, Linda journeys through a world of life based on cogs, gears, wheels, and mechanical constructions.

Graphite drawings with hints of colour enhance the complex detail inviting you to closely examine each work and explore its creation. Explore flights of fancy to deep sea wonders with the fascinating mechanical gizmos that are engineered into life, merging the biological with the technical. Delight in Linda’s sheer enjoyment as she explores the intricacies of detail with a concept, it’s mechanics, surface textures and relationships to the natural world.

Visit ‘Steam’ at the VAS Galleries to meet and have a chat with Linda in the Mackley Member’s Room on 8 March, 2pm to 4pm. Find out how she approaches her subjects to create her steam punk vision of mechanical gadgets and critters. Watch Linda in action as she demonstrates techniques with a drawing of her latest work—gears, cogs, wheels, and sprockets all come together to bring to life another imaginative creation.
