I am a painter of light.
I believe that the best and purest medium for capturing light is watercolour. Watercolour produces images like no other medium. It is tricky and ephemeral and demands dedication and perserverance.
I try to capture scenes of light and shadow that tell stories and/or evoke deep and primal emotions within people.
One of my collectors wrote to me and said, "Part of what I was saying about your paintings, and I understand it might sound a bit mystical, but some artists have the ability to pierce the boundary between the temporal and the divine and give us glimpses of the bounty of beauty that is our Creator's. And you exercise that gift, and give me that little glimpse as I ponder your paintings....which is a simple thing, but very cool and wonderful."
What more could I add to that?
This year, I have had the honour of receving a merit award from the "International Watercolour Masters" World Contest. I have also joined the Victorian Artists Society (VAS) and Watersolour Society of Victoria (WSV). All of which are also a "very cool things"!
Born in the USA. Raised in Sydney. Attended Shore School and UNSW (Computer Science). Massively involved in the developing the evolution of communications and connectivity (aka "The Internet"). But really an Artist at heart!
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
