Walking on the wide beach in warm afternoon sunshine, I spotted something unusual on the beach in the distance. On approaching it, I found a rusting fishing vessel washed up on the sand, seaweed hanging off the railings. I spent a lot of time wondering about this boat. Who had it belonged to, what had befallen it and how long had it been lying here abandoned in the sand? I imagined it being washed by the ocean time after time, tide by tide and gradually becoming more and more rusted. Eventually it will break apart and be reclaimed by the ocean. I was intrigued and wanted to paint the peaceful scene.
The painting is professionally framed with a light coloured, plain, neutral wooden frame.
