Diana is a member of the Victorian Artists Society, painting mainly in oils and watercolour although she has painted in acrylic and pastels when the subject has required it.
Diana was born in Melbourne and has travelled extensively, giving her the opportunity to study overseas. She studied briefly with Martinio Correia from the Florence Academy and for a few years with Micheal Van Zeal from the Palette and Chisel - Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago.
“The one and only tantrum I ever had as a child was when I was 10 years old because I wanted my mother to buy me oil paints. I have been painting ever since. “
Diana is a traditional realist painter influenced by the techniques of the old masters and living masters such as Juliette Aristidis. Her work ranges from portraiture to landscapes and still life. She has had several portrait commissions both in Australia and overseas.
“I love painting the colour of the light. Nature has the most wonderful colour palette if one takes the time to look.”
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
