Daniela Miszkinis is a fine artist, currently focusing on painting in oils, in particular portraiture, still life arrangements and interiors. Often working directly from life, Daniela creates paintings based on the premise that the sitter's psyche can be accessed through the observation of their body.
Daniela has held solo and group exhibitions at the Flinders Lane Gallery, Melbourne; Artistry Galleries, Malvern; was a finalist of A.M.E. Bale Art Prize, Glen Eira City Council Gallery, Caulfield; a finalist of Eutick Memorial Still Life Award, Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery, NSW; and a semi-finalist of Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, NSW.
Daniela was a resident artist at the Montsalvat artists’ colony, Eltham, Victoria from 2012 to 2016. In 2017 Daniela studied painting in Italy under Vincent Desiderio.
Daniela Miszkinis was born in Poland and migrated to Australia as a young adult. Daniela completed her honours thesis in English literature at Monash University, studied creative writing at RMIT and has been awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Visual Art from the Victorian College of the Arts. She is completing her Master of Art Therapy at La Trobe University and works in private practice as a registered art therapist and a counsellor.
