I cannot remember a time before drawing. My art making includes painting as well as drawing, working in watercolour and acrylic. The environment in far East Gippsland where I live and further afield provides endless subjects for drawing and painting. The increasing intensity of weather events has been the focus of much of my recent work. Each painting has a small story embedded in it. Together they tell a larger story.
I grew up in the USA and studied art and design there before migrating to Australia in 1969. My early working life was spent as a freelance artist, designer and illustrator. Later, I became a lecturer in Drawing, Design, Illustration at The University of Newcastle, NSW. Relocating to far East Gippsland in Victoria upon retirement, I have been free to pursue a career as a a painter and sometimes gallery owner. Life is good.
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
