I was born in Carlton Victoria then lived in Fitzroy North and attended Merry Primary School down the road. I have very fond memories of this time. Then, we moved to Balwyn North attending Balwyn High from year 7 to 8. I also have very good memories of these times. I finished year 12 high school at Templestowe Technical School. I enjoyed this as they had a great art and wood working department.
Coming out of high school, I attended Footscray TAFE. They had an amazing art department. Attending 1 year here, with likeminded people, students and teaches, was so enriching for me. I find myself drawing back on that time even today.
I enjoyed Drawing and Painting so I attended an Architectural Drafting course at Moorabbin TAFE. This allowed me to work on large format works pieces for hours at a time. I really excelled at the building construction detail side of things. I also started a bricklaying apprenticeship. Over the next few years, I completed an apprenticeship and architectural drafting certificate at the same time.
I was working full time as a bricklayer for many years, also doing architectural drafting jobs for builders and home owners. Over the years, I have built structures, houses and extensions.
I have always continued to draw and paint. I am a member of local art societies, which I enjoy. This allows me to learn and share new techniques. As an artist, you never stop learning and developing, to master and perfect your craft.
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
